Positions available:  

 

*Medical Office Specialist (2) Full-time. Job duties include administrative and patient-interaction services such as registration and eligibility, charge entry and processing of medical claims in order to support the operations of the Center. Perform other duties as required to achieve organizational goals and program objectives. Qualifications: High School diploma. Formal Medical Office Coding required. Fluent in Medical billing terminology. Formal training CPT & ICD-10 coding. One to three years filing medical claims strongly desired. Familiar with Microsoft Office, excel, Word. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent customer service including telephone etiquette. Always maintains confidentiality, a team player and professional attitude. Ability to multi-task and attention to detail. May be assigned to work at different clinic sites.

 

*Patient Care Assistant (CMA preferred not required) (2) Full-time. Duties include tracking of ordered referrals generated by the providers assigned to the Social Services team to meet PCMH requirements. These duties include scheduling failed to keep appointments, requesting notes from specialists, entering them into the electronic medical record and registering Social Services patients on a rotating basis. Qualifications: High school Diploma or equivalent, current Medical Assistant certification and CPR or BLS certification. Excellent customer service skills. Compassionate and patient/service oriented. Functions as a member of a collaborative health care team to create and maintain a Patient Centered Medical Home. Strong organizational multi-tasking skills and ability to maturely handle disruptions in a fast-paced setting. Computer skills, experience with electronic medical health records, and knowledge of Excel. Professional appearance and attention to detail. Bilingual in order to communicate effectively with providers and patients. One to three years’ experience in Ob/Gyn, Adult or Pediatrics strongly preferred.

 

Social Services CSR(1) Full-time – The Social Services Customer Service Representative is selected by
and is responsible to the Social Services Supervisor. The Social Services Customer Service Representative
is responsible for following the established operational procedures of the Social Services section. The
Social Services Customer Service Representative works under general supervision to establish
communications with referred individuals, obtains pertinent information on patient to register them into
the Social Services template and ensures the patient is seen by one of the Case Managers or Case Aides.
The Social Services Customer Service Representative assists the Social Services staff in scheduling
patients with external specialties or imaging centers. Also facilitates referrals to other agencies or
individuals as needed and required to achieve organizational goals and program objectives. High School
diploma or equivalent and 6 month experience in medical setting preferred

 

*Health Information Management Specialist (Medical Records) (1) Full-Time. Responsible for prepping, scanning and reviewing Protected Health Information to ensure completeness. Willingness to cross-train to cover other clerks. Scan and QA documents within the EHR system. Qualifications: High School diploma including keyboarding, filing and office procedures skills, six months to one-year experience in a medical setting preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology and HIPAA regulations. Great organizational skills and ability to remain focused and constant attention to detail. Great customer service skills, this person may also function as the main BCHC operator on a rotating schedule with other HIS staff. Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and offsite. Ability to lift up to 25lbs.

 

*Medical Laboratory Technician (1) Full-Time. The Medical Laboratory Technician is selected by and reports to the Laboratory Supervisor. Under general supervision, the M.L.T. is responsible to provide technical support in the laboratory. Performs, reviews, and reports routine diagnostic laboratory procedures in all areas of the laboratory. Follows safety and infection control protocol procedures on a daily routine basis in collection and analysis of specimens and maintains equipment and quality assurance record. Performs other duties as assigned to achieve the Performance Improvement Plan, organizational goals and program objectives. Medical Laboratory Technicians function as a member of a collaborative health care team to create and maintain a Patient Centered Medical Home where emphasis is on excellent communication; support of the patient is provided and tracked in a culturally competent, behaviorally enhanced setting supported by information technology.

 

*Promotor(a) De Salud (Community Outreach Worker) (1) Full-Time. Performs outreach activities out in the community and provides extensive support to New Horizon Health Center programs and services as necessary. Responsible for providing health education and family resources and support services to families and individuals in the New Horizon Health Center catchment area. Qualifications: H.S. Diploma or equivalent. DSHS Promotora Certificate strongly preferred. Great customer services skills. Experience in a social services setting preferred. Ability to communicate in English and Spanish verbally and in writing. Deliver presentations in small groups or individual basis and participate in various projects as required. Computer literate. Willing and able to work weekends and evenings. Transportation and current TX DL and mandated liability insurance. Some overnight travel may be required.

 

*Registered Dental Assistant (1). Full-Time. We are seeking a skilled Dental Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist the dental team in providing quality oral healthcare with a focus on patient comfort and satisfaction. Responsibilities: Prepare operatories for patient examinations, sterilize dental instruments following aseptic techniques, take and develop dental x-rays and medical imaging, maintain accurate patient records and assist with medical documentation, provide chairside assistance during dental procedures, educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care, adhere to HIPAA guidelines for patient privacy. Qualifications: Must have and maintain current license/registration with State. Current CPR/BLS Certification. Two years of dental experience in dental assisting duties preferred. Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred. Proficiency in dental terminology and procedures. Knowledge of aseptic technique in a dental setting. Strong communication skills for interacting with patients and staff. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

 

*Dietician (1) Fulltime. The Registered Dietician functions as a member of a collaborative health care team to create and maintain a Patient Centered Medical Home where emphasis is on excellent communication; support of the patient is provided and tracked in a culturally competent, behaviorally enhanced setting supported by information technology. Due to the nature of NHHC services, it may become necessary to require employees to work extended hours or other variations of the usual shift to ensure adequate care of patients and to maintain services to the community.

 

*Lifestyle Coach (1) Fulltime. We are seeking a Lifestyle Coach to provide support and guidance to participants in the “Let’s Prevent Diabetes Program (LPD) and implement the standard curriculum designed for the LPD Program. Promotores or Promotoras de Salud (community health workers) are responsible for providing health education and family resource and support services to families/individuals in the NHHC catchment area. These employees work on specific health-related projects and also assist with general educational efforts undertaken by the New Horizon Health Center. Promotores or Promotoras de Salud (community health workers) function as a member of a collaborative health care team to create and maintain a Patient Centered Medical Home where emphasis is on excellent communication, support of the patient is provided and tracked in a culturally competent, behaviorally enhanced setting supported by information technology. Due to the nature of New Horizon Health Center services, it may become necessary to require employees to work extended hours or other variations of the usual shift to ensure adequate care of patients and to maintain services to the community.

 

*Housekeeping Attendant (2). We are seeking a part time Housekeeping Attendant maintains the cleanliness and services of the clinic building area, and performs a variety of housekeeping duties to maintain the clinic in an orderly and sanitary condition. Due to the nature of New Horizon Health Center services, it may become necessary to require employees to work extended hours or other variations of the usual shift to ensure adequate maintenance of our facilities.

 

* Certified Medical Assistant (1) Full-time. Duties include assisting medical providers with direct patient care, office work in Pediatrics. Qualifications include H.S. diploma and formal education as a Medical Assistant. Excellent customer service skills. Compassionate and patient/service oriented. Functions as a member of a collaborative health care team to create and maintain a Patient Centered Medical Home. Strong organizational multi-tasking skills and ability to maturely handle disruptions in a fast paced setting. Qualifications: Current M.A. Certification and CPR certification. Computer skills and experience with electronic health records. Professional appearance and attention to detail. Bilingual in order to communicate effectively with medical providers and patients. One to three years’ experience in Ob/Gyn, Adult or Pediatrics strongly preferred. From time to time, may be assigned to multiple sites or work variation or extended hours. Transportation and current TX DL and mandated liability insurance is required.

 

*HR Generalist (1) Full time. We are seeking a Human Resources Generalist who will be responsible for managing employment functions across the organization to effectively attract and retain employees. Core functions include human resources information systems, assisting with maintaining employee policy compliance and internal communications with management and staff while remaining impartial when rendering decisions. Areas of focus include but are not limited to licensures, HRIS, FMLA, training, and workman’s compensation. The HR Generalist also assists in employee relations, performance management, training and overseeing recruitment. Due to the nature of the department and New Horizon, it may become necessary to work extended hours or Saturday assignments as needed.
