New Horizon Health Center is actively recruiting for the following positions:

 

*CMA- Behavioral Health (1 Full time)- The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) is selected by and is under the supervision of the Director of Nursing (DON) and assigned to the Behavioral Health Department. Under general supervision, the CMA provides extensive nursing support to the Behavioral Health department providers and staff. The CMA will interview patients and prepare them for treatment and examinations, assists providers with patient care including but not limited to: education, instruction, translation, maintaining exam rooms and equipment, orders and stocks rooms with supplies, performs other duties as assigned and cross trains for other nursing departments to achieve organizational goals and program objectives. High School graduate or equivalent. Must be Registered / Certified Medical Assistant in good standing, one to two years’ experience working in a behavioral health setting treating children, adolescents and adults. Required. Texas Driver’s license and reliable transportation is required.

 

*Ophthalmic Assistant (Certified Preferred) Responsible for accurate and complete patient histories, performing initial vision screenings and selected parts of the visual examination including refractions. Assist Physicians in performing their jobs. Be courteous and conscientious at all times and demonstrate an attitude of caring about the patients. High School graduate or equivalent, preferred Registered / Certified Ophthalmic Assistant; One to two years’ experience working in a medical setting, or a similar position preferred. TX Driver’s license and transportation to travel from site to site. Must have a current CPR or be
able to obtain within 3 months of employment.

 

*HR Specialist-Recruitment (1 Full time)- The Human Resources Specialist is selected by and reports to the Human Resources Director. Under general supervision, the HR Specialist is responsible for providing extensive administrative support to the Human Resources Director and HR team The primary focus of responsibility is recruitment of the staffing needs of the clinic. In addition, performs various projects and other duties as required to achieve organizational goals and program objectives. Must have a High School Diploma or GED Associate’s Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare or Human resources required. Education may be substituted for years of experience in administration in a healthcare setting. Two for one, years of experience vs. education respectively. Bachelor’s Degree in the listed fields strongly desired. Valid TX Driver’s license and transportation required. May require some travel. Education may be substituted with a minimum of two to four years of experience in healthcare or service-oriented organization. Three to four years experience in administrative position preferred with progressive responsibility, in a medical setting strongly desired. Computer literate; proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and familiar with PowerPoint, Access, Publisher, PDF, Adobe Photo Shop. Computer and other technology/software savvy (projectors, scanners, presentation media clickers, communication media software, indeed, zoom, etc.). 2-3years in experience in Human Resources including recruitment, credentialing of staff, benefits administration, wage and hour/payroll, employee relations, staff development, and workplace safety strongly preferred. Current Texas driver’s license is required. Some travel may be necessary.

 

*Controller (1 Full time)- The Controller is selected by and is responsible to the Finance Director. Under general and specific direction the Controller is responsible for the operations of the center’s accounting and financial reporting systems. This person operates the general and grant accounting systems along with the financial and grant reporting systems in order to provide complete and accurate records of all the center’s assets, liabilities, net assets, support, revenues, expenses, and financial activities and transactions. This person is able to operate and understand the internal reporting systems of the Accounting Department and determine adherence to prescribed accounting policies and procedures.
This person performs accounting analyses for certain projects or grants as assigned. The Controller is responsible for direct supervision of the Assistant Controller and also performs other duties as assigned to achieve organizational goals and program objectives. Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting or in Business Administration with a major in Accounting. Experience: Minimum three years progressive accounting and financial reporting experience is required.

 

*Director of Finance (1 Full-time)-The Director of Finance is selected by and is responsible to the Executive Director. Under general direction the Director of Finance directs and coordinates the Center’s activities concerned with financial, administrative, general accounting, financial and statistical reporting. Implements and reviews the accounting systems for the Center to provide complete and accurate records of the Center’s assets, liabilities, and financial transactions. Evaluates accounting and patient business service procedures, plans methods of ensuring receipt of payments on patient’s accounts are recorded promptly and accurately and monitors the costs and revenues of the Center’s operations. Collaborates with management team in preparing the Center’s budget based on past and present conditions in order to project future expenditures and revenues. Bachelor’s in business administration/accounting or finance. An MBA or CPA certification preferred. 5+ years relevant work experience as a Controller or equivalent; experience in nonprofit accounting required. Experience working with federal/state grants and prior Auditing experience strongly preferred. Three to five years of management or leadership experience strongly required to influence and motivate change. 5 years or more of experience in a supervisory role. Master’s level education preferred but could be substituted – 2 years of experience for every year of education may be substituted.

 

*Medical Laboratory Technician (1) Full-Time- The Medical Laboratory Technician is selected by and reports to the Laboratory Supervisor. Under general supervision, the M.L.T. is responsible to provide technical support in the laboratory. Performs, reviews, and reports routine diagnostic laboratory procedures in all areas of the laboratory. Follows safety and infection control protocol procedures on a daily routine basis in collection and analysis of specimens and maintains equipment and quality assurance record. Performs other duties as assigned to achieve the Performance Improvement Plan, organizational goals and program objectives.
Medical Laboratory Technicians function as a member of a collaborative health care team to create and maintain a Patient Centered Medical Home where emphasis is on excellent communication; support of the patient is provided and tracked in a culturally competent, behaviorally enhanced setting supported by information technology.

 

*Promotor(a) De Salud (Community Outreach Worker) (1) Full-Time. Performs outreach activities out in the community and provides extensive support to New Horizon Health Center programs and services as necessary. Responsible for providing health education and family resources and support services to families and individuals in the New Horizon Health Center catchment area. Qualifications: H.S. Diploma or equivalent. DSHS Promotora Certificate strongly preferred. Great customer services skills. Experience in a social services setting preferred. Ability to communicate in English and Spanish verbally and in writing. Deliver presentations in small groups or individual basis and participate in various projects as required. Computer literate. Willing and able to work weekends and evenings. Transportation and current TX DL and mandated liability insurance. Some overnight travel may be required.

 

*Registered Dental Assistant (1). Full-Time : We are seeking a skilled Dental Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist the dental team in providing quality oral healthcare with a focus on patient comfort and satisfaction. Responsibilities: Prepare operatories for patient examinations, sterilize dental instruments following aseptic techniques, take and develop dental x-rays and medical imaging, maintain accurate patient records and assist with medical documentation, provide chairside assistance during dental procedures, educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care, adhere to HIPAA guidelines for patient privacy. Must have and maintain current license/registration with State. Current CPR/BLS Certification. Two years of dental experience in dental assisting duties preferred. Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred. Proficiency in dental terminology and procedures. Knowledge of aseptic technique in a dental setting. Strong communication skills for interacting with patients and staff. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

 

*Dietician (1) Fulltime: The Registered Dietician functions as a member of a collaborative health care team to create and maintain a Patient Centered Medical Home where emphasis is on excellent communication; support of the patient is provided and tracked in a culturally competent, behaviorally enhanced setting supported by information technology. Due to the nature of NHHC services, it may become necessary to require employees to work extended hours or other variations of the usual shift to ensure
adequate care of patients and to maintain services to the community.

 

*Frontdesk CSR (3) Fulltime: The Customer Service Representative (CSR) is selected by and reports to the Customer Relations Supervisor. Under general supervision, the CSR is responsible for greeting and directing patients to the different services. The CSR will register patients, receives payments, signs-in patients and schedules returning appointments, uses current practice management system, scans patient information and privacy notice. May be assigned other duties including cross training as required to achieve departmental and organizational goals. High School diploma or equivalent. Formal training as a Medical Office Specialist preferred. 6-month experience in a medical setting preferred or 12 months in related field. Valid TX Driver’s license and transportation required in order to travel from site to site.

 

*Housekeeping Attendant (2): We are seeking a part time Housekeeping Attendant maintains the cleanliness and services of the clinic building area, and performs a variety of housekeeping duties to maintain the clinic in an orderly and sanitary condition. Due to the nature of New Horizon Health Center services, it may become necessary to require employees to work extended hours or other variations of the usual shift to ensure adequate maintenance of our facilities.
