Health Education helps empower individuals and communities to live healthier lives by increasing their knowledge and influencing their attitudes about caring for their well-being.

 

The Health Education Department provides education to our patients on nutrition, diabetes, weight management, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and other diseases. Our staff works closely with all BCHC medical providers regarding health education, especially diabetes self-management.

Brownsville Community Health Center (BCHC) is an FTCA deemed Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). This health center receives HHS funding and has Federal Public Health Service (PHS) deemed status with respect to certain health or health-related claims, including medical malpractice claims, for itself and its covered individuals.
